摘要:

Social networks are deeply woven into our daily life. These Internet platforms host a plethora of web services to keep people connected, provide users customized information, and promote data transparency to democratize information. In the not-too-distant future, social network will be organically integrated into the Metaverse. Our work, education, travel, business activities, entertainment, and social interaction will be much more enriched with brand-new, immersive, three-dimensional experiences. To realize this vision, not only do novel AI or machine learning techniques play a pivotal role in perfecting multifarious services for best users’ experiences, the computing and communication infrastructure also need to be re-architected and optimized. Significant computing challenges including scalability, efficiency, users’ privacy protection, and the implication to the environmental sustainability, etc., require meticulous and methodical evaluation by system designers when enabling such at-scale compute platforms. In this talk, I will discuss these challenges and potential solution space as well as the related research directions to address these pressing needs in modern and future computing platforms from the perspective of futuristic social network computing.

講者簡介:
