Donation FAQ
Donation Forms
Q: Is it required to fill out the online donation forms regardless of what type of donation?
A: Yes, please always fill out the form for each donation to ensure we have the correct contact and donation information. It can help us process your donation more efficiently. Without a donation form, the donation will be allocated for the Foundation Operation.
Q: Is there a PDF donation form that I can download?
A: It is highly recommended that you use the online donation forms which support efficient and precise donation processing. But the PDF Donation Form is still supported.
Donation Methods
Q: Where can I see the bank information for "bank wire transfer"?
A: Please click the Make a Gift - Bank Wire Transfer link on the GIVING page. After filling out and submitting the online domain form, you will see the bank ACH transfer information on the thank-you page.
Q: I plan to use Zelle. What name and email address should I use?
A: Please click the Make a Gift - Zelle link on the GIVING page. After filling out and submitting the online domain form, you will find the information on the thank-you page. Note that Zelle is a free and efficient way to transfer money; yet the daily amount can be limited by your financial institution.
Q: Does the Foundation accept Stock donations?
A: Yes, please contact treasury@nthu-na-foundation.org for the details.
Q: I recently learned about the QCD (Qualified Charitable Distributions) donation through IRA. Where can I see more detail about QCD?
A: You may find some information on our Gift from the QCD page. Please also search online for latest federal and state regulations.
Fees
Q: Is there any processing fee for the donation? If yes, how much it would cost?
A: There are bank/platform fees associated with some donation methods (e.g. ~2% for PayPal, and $15 for Bank Wire Transfers). In additions, the Foundation collects low processing fees based on the following structure:
$10K or less (<= $10,000): 3%
Over $10K up to $100K: 2%
Over $100K: 1% of the excess amount
Grants
Q: How often does the Foundation make grants each year?
A: The Foundation assigns donations into different funds. These funds are distributed to designated beneficiaries twice a year. The donation cut-off dates are 03/31 and 10/15 (when donations must be cashed). It takes about 30-45 days after the cut-off dates for the Foundation to transfer the funds.
Q: What is the privacy policy?
A: The Foundation has an opt-out privacy policy. Selected donor information (e.g., names and email addresses) will be shared with the beneficiaries unless the donors choose to be anonymous. Non-personal information (e.g., graduation departments and years) will always be shared.
