郭昱廷 Yu-Ting Kuo
Yu-Ting Kuo works across academia and industry, with a longstanding focus on artificial intelligence and responsible innovation in technology. He is a faculty member at MIT Sloan School of Management and the Department of Computer Science at National Tsing Hua University. His academic interests span the ethics, governance, economics, and societal impact of AI, alongside innovation management, entrepreneurship, and machine learning. Yu-Ting spent 27 years at Microsoft, retiring as a Corporate Vice President. During that time, he helped incubate and scale the company's enterprise cloud AI services and consumer AI applications, and most recently led Microsoft's agentic AI efforts. He also founded Microsoft's AI R&D centers in Belgrade, Cambridge, Taipei, and Zürich. In 2021, Business Insider named him one of the "11 power players leading artificial intelligence at Microsoft." Yu-Ting's pioneering work in cloud AI services, which earned him the inaugural Asian American Luminary Award in Science and Engineering Innovation from the US-based Chinese Institute of Engineers in 2018, is also featured in the 2025 book The Insider’s Guide to Innovation at Microsoft. He holds 12 US and international patents in search and AI technologies.
Alongside his work in academia and industry, Yu-Ting devotes considerable time to coaching, advisory roles, and institution-building. He serves as an independent director for startups, an entrepreneurship expert at Oxford Saïd Business School, and a professional advisor to the MIT Martin Trust Center for Entrepreneurship. He also served on the MIT Sloan Executive Board until its conclusion in May 2026. In June 2026, Yu-Ting was elected an Industry and Enterprise Fellow at Clare Hall, University of Cambridge. He is also a jury member for Europe's €125m Next Frontier AI Challenge, an initiative by SPRIN-D, Germany's Federal Agency for Breakthrough Innovation.
Yu-Ting began his career as a strategy consultant at McKinsey & Company. He is an alumnus of National Tsing Hua University, MIT, Harvard Business School, the Wharton School, and Oxford Saïd Business School. He was named a Distinguished Alumnus of the College of Science at National Tsing Hua University in 2021 and received the university’s Distinguished Alumni Award in 2026. In 2025, Yu-Ting was elected an Honorary Fellow of Hughes Hall, University of Cambridge, in recognition of his contributions to AI innovation and philanthropy.
His current work focuses on the ethics, safety, climate impact, cognitive sovereignty, and governance of AI, as well as entrepreneurship and innovation management across startups and large organizations.

昱廷在微軟服務長達27年，退休前擔任微軟全球資深副總裁。任職期間，他協助微軟孵化並擴展企業雲端 AI 服務與消費端 AI 應用，近年更主導微軟的代理式 AI（agentic AI）技術研究與產品開發。他也一手創立微軟在貝爾格勒、劍橋、台北與蘇黎世的 AI 研發中心。2021年，《Business Insider》將他選為「微軟 AI 領域11位權威人物」（"11 power players leading artificial intelligence at Microsoft"）之一。他在雲端 AI 服務上的先驅貢獻，讓他於 2018 年獲頒美國華人工程師學會（Chinese Institute of Engineers）首屆「亞裔美籍科學與工程創新傑出人士獎」（Asian American Luminary Award in Science and Engineering Innovation），相關事蹟亦收錄於 2025 年出版的《The Insider's Guide to Innovation at Microsoft》一書中。他在搜尋與人工智慧技術領域擁有12項美國及國際專利。

Dr Chen is a serial entrepreneur in many fields. She is a former CEO of a Silicon Valley startup whose cybersecurity product achieved FIPS 140-2 certification, qualifying it to work with the U.S. Department of Defense.
She holds a doctoral degree in Materials Science and Engineering from University of Pennsylvania and six executive program certificates. These were from Stanford engineering school, graduate school of Business, Wharton, MIT and Columbia. From this transformative journey of acquiring cutting-edge capabilities across her career has allowed her also to focus on AI-Assisted Cross-Disciplinary Discovery along with AI in finance management.
She also selectively participates in American political activities based on the candidate and the cause. Years ago, she helped elected a Chinese-American governor, a member of Congress, and a presidential candidate. She is a founding honorary director of NTHU NA Foundation and one of the founding members of the 55 year old NTHU astronomy club .
